A shipping method determines the shipping costs that a customer pays at checkout.
Now that you have learned the basics of shipping zones and shipping methods and you've set up your shipping zones, it’s time to put the pieces together. With the help of this article, you will be able to configure the shipping methods that the customer can pick at checkout.

What to charge for shipping?
You can create several shipping methods for a shipping zone. Shipping methods can vary in delivery speed and costs. It's nice if your customers can choose from various shipping methods at checkout.
When setting up a shipping method, you can choose between these options:

If you're not sure what to charge for shipping, do some research on the internet, or contact some shipping carriers to ask for advice.Note
Remember to make your shipping costs transparent on the legal page "Payment & shipping". This page is directly linked on your website near the product price. This ensures that your website meets the legal requirements. For more information, refer to the article Provide information about payment and shipping.Add a shipping method
- In the sidebar of the cockpit, navigate to Settings > Shop.
- Select Shipping & pickup.
- Select a shipping zone that you'd like to configure shipping methods for.
- On the Shipping methods card, select Add shipping method.

Note that added shipping methods are always available for all products. It is not possible to restrict a shipping method to specific products. - On the Basics card, in the field Name (mandatory field), enter a name that defines your shipping method. This name will be visible to your customers at checkout.
Example: DHL Express - In the field Description, enter more details about this shipping method, so that your customers know what to expect from it.
Example: Express service. Delivery on the next day. - On the Shipping costs card, select the desired shipping cost option. Depending on the option you've selected, more settings need to be made.
- Once you're done with the setup, select Save.
Et voilà! You've added a shipping method, that will be displayed to your customers like this:
Delete a shipping method
If you find that you no longer want to offer a particular shipping method to your customers, you can delete it. It's as simple as that:
- In the sidebar of the cockpit, navigate to Settings > Shop.
- Select Shipping & pickup.
- Navigate to the shipping zone that holds the shipping method, you'd like to delete.
- Select the respective shipping method.
- Select Delete shipping method.
- Confirm the deletion by selecting OK in the confirmation dialog.
