Customers will be automatically added to your Customer overview if they place an order on your website - they will either have the status Registered or Not registered.

If you would like to get more information about these statuses or about the Customer overview in general, we recommend to read our article Learn about customer management.You can also manually add customers in your cockpit, for example to add frequent customers of your local store that you would also like to see in the list in order to have all customers and their customer details in one central place.
This article will guide you through the required steps:
- In the sidebar of your cockpit, select Customers.
- In the upper right corner of your Customer overview, select Add customer.
- On the Customer details card, you can now add the following information:

First name and last name
Enter the customer's first name and last name. These will automatically be used for the billing address information later on. -
Email address and phone number
Optionally, you can also enter the customer's email address and phone number. -
Internal comment
Optionally, you can add an internal comment regarding the customer, for example "Reliable customer". This comment will only be visible to you, not to the customer. You could also use the comment section for further customer details that you know about and would like to note down but that do not have a dedicated input field.

First name and last name
- On the Address information card, add the billing address and optionally the shipping address of the customer. To do so, first select the country for the billing address from the dropdown. Once you've selected a country, further input fields will be available. The available input fields and their sorting may vary as they are displayed based on the address standards for the selected country.
If the shipping address for the customer differs from the billing address, select the checkbox Add different shipping address and enter the shipping address in the same way as you did for the billing address. - Select Save.
The customer was added to the very end of the list on your Customer overview with the customer status Registered.
For privacy reasons, manually created customers will not be mapped to any orders - even if the customer related to an order placed on your website shares the exact same information.
