If you run a local store, you can offer your customers to order products on your website and then pick them up in your store. This service is called Pick up in store, also known as Click and Collect. It has many advantages for your customers: They can usually pick up the products within a shorter time frame than the shipping period, seek advice in your store, and might even be able to save money as pickup is usually cheaper than shipping. You as a merchant can also benefit from Pick up in store: You need to send less packages, can offer your customers a useful service that might raise customer satisfaction, and customers might buy further products when picking up their order.
You can offer Pick up in store to your customers by adding pickup options. Customers can then select a pickup option at checkout instead of a shipping method. In this article, you will learn how to add, edit, sort, and delete such pickup options.

Each pickup option is connected to a location in your cockpit. Thus, before being able to manage your pickup options, you need to add at least one location. Our articles Manage locations - without Google connection and Manage locations - with Google connection can help you with that.Skip to:

Add a pickup option
Here's how to add a pickup option:
- In the sidebar of the cockpit, navigate to Settings > Shop.
- Select Shipping & Pickup.
- In the top bar, select Add pickup option.

If you have already assigned all your locations to a pickup option or if you haven't yet created a location at all, you'll need to add a (new) location before you can add a pickup option. - On the Basics card, select the location that you would like to assign to the pickup option from the Location dropdown. When customers select the pickup option at checkout, this location is displayed to them as the pickup location.

Each location can only be assigned to one pickup option. Thus, the dropdown only includes locations that you haven't yet assigned to any other pickup option. - On the Basics card, you can also optionally add additional information for your customers that will be shown to them at checkout and in order confirmation emails. Here's an example: "Please bring your order confirmation when picking up the order." You do not need to mention the address or the opening hours of your local store. This information will be automatically displayed to your customers at checkout and in the order confirmation mail based on your entries for the location assigned in step 4.

If you would like to change the address or the opening hours of the related location, you can do so in the location management section of your cockpit. - On the Basics card, you can also optionally determine that customers need to leave their phone number at checkout, for example, if you would like to make an appointment for the pickup. To do so, activate the checkbox Require customers to leave their phone number at checkout. The checkout will then include the required field Phone number right below the pickup option.
- Select Save.
The pickup option has been added and can be selected by your customers at checkout. Optionally, you can now promote your Pick up in store option in the header of your website. Edit a pickup option
If you would like to change the address or the opening hours of the location connected to the pickup option, you can do so in the location management section of your cockpit. For changes related to your pickup option, here's what you'll do:
- In the sidebar of the cockpit, navigate to Settings > Shop.
- Select Shipping & Pickup.
- On the Pickup options card, select the pickup option you would like to edit.
- Edit the pickup option according to your needs.
- Select Save.
The pickup option has been updated according to your changes.
Change the order of the pickup options
Your pickup options are displayed to your customers at checkout in the same order as they are displayed in your cockpit. Here's how to change the order:
- In the sidebar of the cockpit, navigate to Settings > Shop.
- Select Shipping & Pickup.
- On the Pickup options card, you can now change the order of the pickup options via drag and drop. To do so, hold down next to the pickup option you would like to move and drag it to the desired position.
Note
The pickup option at the very top of the list serves as the default selection when customers select Pickup in the Shipping & Pickup checkout step. Thus, you should have your preferred pickup option at the very top.
The order of your pickup options has been changed, in your cockpit as well as in the Shipping & Pickup checkout step.
Delete a pickup option
Note
Please note that you cannot delete your last pickup option if you do not offer at least one shipping method. Otherwise, customers would not be able to make a purchase on your website anymore. If you do not want to allow visitors to make purchases on your website, you can deactivate the cart functionality instead.Here's how to delete a pickup option:
- In the sidebar of the cockpit, navigate to Settings > Shop.
- Select Shipping & Pickup.
- On the Pickup options card, select the pickup option you would like to delete.
- Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and select Delete pickup option.
- Confirm the deletion by selecting Ok in the confirmation dialog.
The pickup option has been deleted and customers cannot select it at checkout anymore. Note that the assigned location has not been deleted. If desired, you can remove it in the location management section of your cockpit.
