When creating a product, you can decide whether you'd like to directly publish it or save it as a draft. When saving a product as a draft, it will be created, but not displayed on your website. The product will only be available to your visitors once you publish it. You can also revert published products to draft again at any time.

Create a product draft
When initially creating a product, you can decide whether you would like to directly publish it or save it as a draft. Here's how to save it as a draft:
- In the sidebar of your cockpit, select Products.
- Select Add product in the upper right corner.
- Add the relevant data for the product.
- In the upper right corner, be sure to select Draft from the dropdown menu.
- Select Save.
You have saved the product. However, it is currently not visible to your visitors. To make it visible publish the product draft.
Revert a published product to draft
You can revert published products to draft at any time and thereby unpublish them. Here's how:
- In the sidebar of your cockpit, select Products.
- Select the product you would like to revert to draft from the product overview.
- In the upper right corner, select Published.
- Select Draft from the dropdown menu.
- Select Save.
The product has been saved as a draft. Thus, it is not visible to your visitors anymore. If visitors try to open the link to the product after you have reverted it to draft, they will see an error page informing them that their desired page does not exist.
Get an overview of product drafts
You can check the Status column of the Product overview to get an overview of product drafts. Here you can see if the status of the product is draft or published. You can also use this column to sort the products by their status. Simply select the column title Status:
Additionally, you can filter your products by their product status when selecting Filters in the upper right corner of the product overview:
Edit a product draft
Just as published products, product drafts are part of your product range. Therefore, you can always edit product drafts by navigating to Products and then selecting the respective product from the Product overview.
Delete a product draft
You can delete product drafts at any time. Here's how:
- In the sidebar of your cockpit, select Products.
- From the Product overview, select the product draft you'd like to delete.
- Select Delete draft at the bottom of the page.
The product draft has been deleted.
Publish a product draft
You can publish product drafts at any time. Here's how:
- In the sidebar of your cockpit, select Products.
- From the Product overview, select the product you'd like to publish.
- In the upper right corner, select Draft.
- Select Published from the drop-down menu.
- Select Save.
The product has been published.
Once you've published a product, you can make use of product sliders and categories to display it prominently on your website. But be aware that the product is externally accessible as soon as it is published, for example via the search bar on your website or via Google. Furthermore, it will be directly visible on your website if it matches the criteria of an automatic category that you are already displaying on your website or if you have added the product to a manual category that you are already displaying on your website.
If you would like to revert the product to draft, follow the steps described in the Revert a published product to draft section.
When to save a product as a draft
There might be several reasons why you would like to save a product as a draft. Here's an example to give you an idea of the possible use cases:
Saving a product as a draft might come in handy when you need to prepare a broader range of products, for example, a new summer collection. You can create all products and add relevant information, such as descriptions and images, bit by bit. During the whole creation of the collection, none of the product drafts will be available to your visitors.
When it's finally time to sell your summer collection, you can just publish the product drafts. This way, you can do all the groundwork upfront and when the time comes, publish the whole summer collection almost simultaneously.
