If you sell products that are available in different sizes or packages (like food, perfume, or floor covering), your visitors might want to know the price per unit in comparison to the total price. This enables them to compare prices regardless of package sizes. In many countries it is even legally required to show this reference price on your website.

Where is the reference price displayed?
The reference price is displayed right next to the total price of the product. This way, the visitor can easily see both prices.
How to set the reference price
- In the sidebar of your cockpit, select Products.
- From the Product overview, select an existing product or add a new one.
- Scroll down to the Pricing card.
- Select the checkbox Calculate reference price. The Product quantity field is automatically pre-filled with default values:
- Adjust the quantity to the amount that your product contains, then select the desired unit from the drop-down menu. The following units are supported:
- g
- kg
- ml
- l
- m
- m²
- m³
The reference price will be automatically calculated on the basis of the product quantity you've entered and the unit you've selected.A preview of how the reference price will be displayed to your visitors is shown next to the Product quantity field.Note
If you set a sale price for your product, the reference price will be based on the sale price and not on the original price.Note
The amount you enter in this field won't be displayed to your visitors. It is only used for the calculation of the reference price. If you want to display the product amount on your website, you can add it to the title, the description, or alike. - Select Save.
You have successfully set a reference price for your product. It is now displayed to your visitors right next to the total price of the product.
